  • Pitso Mosimane’s Al Wahda have two wins and two defeats from four games
  • Al Wahda were defeated 3-1 in their last outing against league champions Shabab Al Ahli
  • Fixing mistakes and focusing on improvements are key to earning three points

Al Wahda will be looking to get back to winning ways in their fifth league encounter of the season.

Pitso Mosimane’s team will have taken the positives out of their 3-1 defeat to Shabab Al-Ahli but will not accept any slip-ups against a team lower than them on the log.

Friday night’s opponents, Bani Yas, sit in eighth place on the United Arab Emirates Pro League log with one win in four, scoring eight goals but having let in the same amount.

The need to iron out the mistakes is the message from the South African boss, who left Al Ahli in June, as reported by News24.

Speaking at a press conference, Al-Wahda's X account (formerly known as Twitter) relayed Mosimane’s comments:

"The Bani Yas match won't be much different from the other games. We expect a strong defensive approach from the opponent, and we must capitalize on opportunities to achieve a positive result.
"We have reviewed the mistakes from the previous match and talked to the players, and I am confident that we will return from the opponent's field with three points. I have a great team, and loss is part of the game. We must move forward and continue to improve."

Strong defences are the hallmarks of Mosimane’s teams, but Al-Wahda are yet to keep a clean sheet.

Al Wahda posted comments made by defender Sultan Al Zaabi, who said:

"We are trying as much as possible to learn from the mistakes made in the previous match. I am confident that every loss is a lesson that makes the team a champion."

Sports Brief earlier reported that Mosimane had a multipurpose sports facility in Soweto named after him.

A brand-new facility named in his honour was unveiled at the Lofentse Girls High School for the community on September 5.

The facility boasts seven multipurpose courts and will include roughly 1,050 training kits made available for young girls and boys from the area.
